๐Ÿ’˜13 FACTS ABOUT MYSELF๐Ÿ’˜

What’s cooking, good-looking?

As a true amateur blogger and someone born on the thirteenth, I feel that it is my duty to share 13 niche and probably embarrassing fun facts about myself:

 1. I like men with massive, throbbing, and pulsing vocabularies.

2.  I fundamentally believe we should read Sylvia Plath’s Ariel poems at least once a month.

Herr God, Herr Lucifer
Beware Beware.
Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air.

 3. -And watch Taste of Cherry every two weeks. It keeps us sad and grounded, maybe even in touch with the rollercoaster of emotions we keep locked inside of us.

4. I want to read Ulysses before I turn twenty-one and fall in love at least 5 more times.

5. The first date I ever went on was with a girl, and I was a prepubescent, gauche, and painfully insecure 14-year-old who believed that I would never recover from the heartache she caused me. (I did, but then she broke my heart again when I was 15.)

6. My favourite trip I ever took was in 2024 with my two best friends, when we spent four days in Dublin (and Cork). Ireland seemed so much brighter and loveable when it was (temporarily) filled with the joy and love my friends carry around with them.

7. I have never gotten over anything—like, ever. I forget mostly, but one unlucky run-in with an ex or an unpleasant message from an old friend will cause me to tumble and weep like a baby. I don’t get over breakups; I just live with them constantly torturing my every move. I also go over fights and arguments months later because “I should have said something else!”. Will this need to feel all the emotions I ever went through for the rest of my life ever go away? Probably not…

8. I don’t believe in God, angels, heaven and hell, soulmates, fate, lucky charms, or ghosts. I do believe in astrology because it’s harmless fun (and maybe the planets and stars are responsible for my actions and behaviour).

9. I love collecting physical media. I’ve got boxes filled with vinyl, DVDs, CDs, and cassettes. My entire room is drowning in books and poems that I printed out. Something about owning and loving an item makes me just want to show it off and keep it as memorabilia.๐Ÿ’“

10. I need to have a five-year plan at any time—even if I don’t go through with it. Something about just having a backup plan that fuels and reassures me…

11.Speaking of  five-year plan, I want to do as many internships as I can. I like working, I like actively competing for something, and I like slightly dipping my foot into bottomless waters. I hope to make some experiences in journalism, film production, and publishing, so knock on wood!!

12. I never want to get into film directing or anything where I have (creative) power over people. The thought of controlling people and bossing them around scares me shitless. This isn’t just the people-pleaser in me saying this, but I’m just not someone who believes that one person’s opinion holds over someone else’s. I like planning events and making sure that things work out, so maybe becoming a producer would be very interesting. I’ll have to see!๐Ÿ‘€

13. If I could go to the movie theatre every day, then I SO would. I’m embarrassed to admit that sometimes I cannot stay concentrated on a film for too long. It’s a habit that I’m slowly but surely breaking out from, but it is deeply ingrained into me. Going to the cinema has certainly helped me because I’m tricking my brain. It’s become a place where I have to pay attention, I have to stay off my phone, and I cannot go elsewhere. Additionally, the film program in the cinematheque is just chef’s kiss, and I want to just crawl into the cosy red chairs to stay there forever and ever.
